Les Cabanes de Sellar sous Vautisse le 28 octobre 2015

C'est François qui m'invite à une sortie en petite reine. J'en profite pour essayer une nouvelle machine. Le BH est presque neuf avec une batterie de 430Wh mais sans suspension arrière. Départ de Pallon Champcella par un temps gris et doux, la pluie est prévue pour ce soir et demain. Deux km plus loin vers Fressinières nous quittons le goudron et attaquons cette longue et agréable montée en forêt au milieu des mélèzes décorés de cette couleur jaune d'automne si particulière. Sous peu, ayant perdu leurs feuilles en forme d'aiguilles il seront bien tristes. La neige sera le nouveau décor. Virage après virage les deux cyclistes montent, un arrêt au croisement de la route forestière du retour et la croix annonçant le col du Lauzet 2068m est en vue. François filoche avec sa belle machine toute neuve, un Lapierre suspendu de partout et équipé en Bosch. La route non revêtue se transforme en chemin Vert. Il descend puis remonte dans le vallon du Sellar. En arrivant au pied de la Montagne d'Août le sentier devient impraticable. Nous vérifions nos batteries car il faudra revenir, les mille mètres de dénivelé sont dépassés. La cabane du Sellar laissée sur notre droite est morne avec son carol boueux, signe d'utilisation intensive récente. Je reconnais le sentier pédestre qui va jusqu'à la dernière cabane située vers 2400m, une de mes premières randos avec le CAF de Briançon il y a bien longtemps. Les sommets Tête de Vautisse et Pic de Rochelaire situés juste au dessus sont blanchis pour l'hiver. Les qq mélèzes courageux poussant au fond du cirque sont colorés davantage.

Il faut revenir par ce sentier boueux et gravir ces petites bosses et une autre plus grosse pour rattraper notre route forestière. Les 1200m de dénivelé sont atteints à la croix. La descente commence mais comme toujours il y a encore une dernière bosse c'est là que les batteries rendent l'âme. La suite n'est que plaisir comme l'omelette qui clôturera cette belle journée. Fx
